Travellers climb the Inume Pass along the edge of a steep river valley at dawn. Two figures pause to enjoy a fine view of a flock of geese flying across Mount Fuji, while a blush of red on the horizon indicates the rising sun. Early morning mist hangs in the middle distance and three further figures begin the ascent up at the lower right of the design.
